PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 2023) – It is truly a year of milestones along Philadelphia’s Delaware River Waterfront, with the official groundbreaking of the Park at Penn’s Landing shining a light on the realization of one of the most game-changing developments the City of Philadelphia has seen in decades, and Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season as a cherished destination for holiday season traditions for locals and visitors alike. The newly minted Delaware River Trail is also hitting its stride as the most well-traveled trail within city limits for walkers, runners, and bikers.
And yet, there is another major milestone to celebrate – especially as it has, in many ways, changed the lives of and provided opportunity for so many Philadelphia artists and entrepreneurs.

For 30 seasons, Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest has been Philadelphia's favorite winter tradition on the Delaware River Waterfront, inviting visitors to indulge in flights of fancy under thousands of sparkling lights in a winter wonderland with spectacular views of the Delaware River. Philadelphia, PA (September 6, 2023) - In a joint press event at 10:00 AM along the Delaware River Waterfront, Governor Josh Shapiro, Mayor Jim Kenney, William Penn Foundation, Knight Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC), as well as additional city officials and supporters, gathered to break ground on the $328.9 million transformative project that will once again reconnect Penn’s Landing back to the City and nearby historic attractions, a connection that was interrupted when I-95 was constructed in the mid-70s.

WHAT: Six-time Grammy-nominated and NAACP Image Award Winner, The Baylor Project, and Grammy-nominated soul artist Jamison Ross will headline the FREE two-day Waterfront Jazz Festival on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. The Waterfront Jazz Festival is presented by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) and Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia and features an incredible lineup of local and national artists with stunning views along the Delaware River. Philly’s own O2001 Jazz Ensemble will open Saturday’s lineup, and local favorites SNACKTIME will perform ahead of Jamison Ross.
