PHILADELPHIA (April 23, 2025) - This May 2025, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation  (“DRWC”) invites visitors to experience the season’s creative energy with a full slate of art, music, and maker-driven events along the waterfront. Anchored by Cherry Street Pier’s vibrant First Friday celebration and Mother’s Day weekend festivities, including the beloved Art Star Bazaar, a 21-year tradition on the Waterfront, May brings a dynamic mix of rotating exhibitions, artist studio visits, eco-conscious programs, and family-friendly happenings. Whether you're looking to shop local, connect with artists, or simply enjoy the waterfront atmosphere, May is the perfect time to discover everything the Delaware River Waterfront has to offer, rain or shine.

To start the month, First Friday presented by Fulton Bank returns on Friday, May 2, bringing Cherry Street Pier to life with a vibrant evening of art, music, and community. From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., guests can explore artist studio tours, shop a curated artisan market, participate in a ticketed Art History Create and Sip class, and enjoy the debut of the Sistah Soul Series, featuring live performances by local independent vocalists. The evening will also feature a Fiber Mindfulness Workshop: Felt, Weave, and Knit in Studio 16 with Bonnie MacAllister, as well as other interactive activities throughout the Pier. All exhibitions and events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted, making First Friday a dynamic way to experience local talent and creative expression.

WHAT: Celebrate Valentine’s Day in style at the annual Sweetheart Skate, presented by Baileys Irish Cream, featuring a magical evening of premium ice skating on the Philadelphia Waterfront.

WHEN:  Friday, February 14, 2025
7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT:

• Skating admission and skate rental are included in the ticket price.
• Each couple will receive one (1) rose and a keepsake photo from Old City Photo Booth.
• Enjoy live DJ music featuring beats spun by DJ NA$H.
• Unique interactive station to create your own Valentine's Day cards (while supplies last).
• Complimentary hot chocolate, hot coffee, or glass of prosecco for guests 21 and older.

WHAT: The first ever Hearts and Crafts Kids Ball is an exciting ticketed event in partnership with PopUpPlay, designed to spark creativity and joy in children and families. This interactive event will provide a variety of arts and crafts activities, entertainment, and special surprises for kids. Join us for a day filled with fun as children unleash their creativity in a vibrant environment! Tickets are just $20 each or $70 for 4 and include: The Snowball Dance Party with a Live DJ, The Runway featuring make-your-own tutu, paper bag fashions, and duct tape boas that you can showcase on a fabulous runway, pretend play featuring a pretend high tea experience, and love chain where you can help make a giant paper chain of kindness. Activities brought to you by PopUpPlay, Nimble Craft, National Kids Gym, and Brooklyn Robot Foundry.

This year’s fireworks are brought to you by Vis PA and will feature two breathtaking shows at 6pm and Midnight, plus Parties on Ice (skating ticket $63; spectator ticket $53) at Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest, Philly’s favorite outdoor rink with skating, festive foods, drinks, entertainment, and family activities, along with two parties down the street at Cherry Street Pier - New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown with PopUpPlay ($27) featuring a fun superhero theme and New Year on the Pier (21+) ($37), and so much more.

PHILADELPHIA,​ ​PA​ ​(December​ ​2024) –​ Cherry Street Pier is thrilled to announce its sixth Winter season, promising a vibrant array of events, art exhibitions, and holiday festivities.  Building on the success of previous years, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) has enhanced the experience by creating adorned, heated areas that make shopping and enjoying the views and good eats from La Placita at Cherry Street Pier warm and cozy on even the coldest days. 

The new heated areas consist of six (6) festive igloos spaced in the Pier’s main corridor and a bedazzled tent in the Garden, all of which feature lights and winter decor. In addition, guests will find stunning winter decorations throughout the Pier bringing the spirit of the season to the space in a new way.
