State of the Waterfront 2025

The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) proudly presents the State of the Waterfront 2025 Impact Report, highlighting a decade of transformation along Philadelphia’s Central Delaware River. Guided by a visionary Master Plan, DRWC continues to create a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible Waterfront that reflects the spirit of the city and belongs to everyone.

In 2024, more than 700,000 visitors enjoyed DRWC’s parks, piers, and trails—from the laid-back vibes of Spruce Street Harbor Park and year-round fun at Independence Blue Cross RiverRink to the creative energy of Cherry Street Pier. With more than five miles of the Delaware River Trail complete and new projects underway, such as the Washington Avenue Connector, South Wetlands Park, and the transformational Penn’s Landing Park, DRWC is building stronger connections between neighborhoods and the river.

Through free programming, public art, and sustainable design, DRWC is fostering spaces that celebrate culture, wellness, and community. Each investment, from restored wetlands to new pedestrian links, strengthens Philadelphia’s riverfront identity as a place to gather, play, and thrive.

Looking ahead, the Waterfront’s future is bright. With construction underway on the 11.5-acre Penn’s Landing Park and new initiatives like the Waterfront Sustainability and Resiliency Plan, DRWC remains dedicated to shaping a Waterfront that serves Philadelphia and inspires generations to come.
