DRWC hosted a community engagement event on Saturday, October 12, at Pier 70 as part of the South Wetlands Park project.
On a sunny afternoon, DRWC staff and community members gathered for a bioblitz at Pier 70 (adjacent to Pier 68) to identify and record as many living organisms as possible to understand the Pier's ecology. Expert ecologists were also on-site to help.
Participants also created stamped imprints on leaves during a fun nature craft activity.
Those who missed the event can visit the iNaturalist site and record findings around Pier 68 near Walmart. Stay tuned for more community engagement events this spring.
