Construction continues on the Delaware River Trail between Penn Treaty Park and the Battery, with the project now expected to be completed in mid-November.
In August, crews installed and inspected the helical piles and caps that will support the new boardwalk.
In early September, crews discovered a large structural root from the heritage London Plane tree near the planned boardwalk location. Construction was temporarily paused while the boardwalk was redesigned to protect the tree root.
What's Next
Construction has resumed, and crews will pour concrete for the boardwalk supports during the first two weeks of October.
The boardwalk is now scheduled for installation in mid-October, with project completion expected in mid-November.
Once complete, this section will improve the connection along the Delaware River Trail while helping preserve the area's existing natural features.
