Join the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink team!

We are currently seeking cashiers (seasonal/part-time), Skate Rentals representatives (seasonal/part-time), and Skate Guards (seasonal/part-time) to join the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink team at Philadelphia's premier outdoor skating rink and seasonal attraction. No experience is required. Training will be provided. Starting salary: $12/hour

Punctuality and a high level of professionalism in all aspects are required. Candidates must be 17 or older to apply. Days, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required as necessary. Actual work hours can vary. 

For the summer, availability from May through September is required; for the winter, availability from November through March is required.

Cashier Duties / Responsibilities: 
This position rotates between the Box Office and Guest Services. 

  • Practice excellent customer service. 
  • Greet, welcome, and guide guests.  
  • Courteously respond to customer inquiries and questions in person and via telephone.  
  • Explain products, services, and prices. 
  • Sell skating tickets and merchandise.  
  • Count the register drawer in/out. 
  • Process cash and credit card payments and perform point-of-sale activities as directed during the scheduled designated cashier shift. 
  • Distribute rental equipment in compliance with established procedures. 
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and order of the display counter, windows, and cases. 
  • Assist other departments and complete side duties as needed. 

Skate Rental Representative Duties / Responsibilities:  

  • Practice excellent customer service.
  • Greet, welcome, and guide guests.  
  • Courteously respond to customer inquiries and questions. 
  • Collect and validate skate rental tickets.  
  • Wristband guests in accordance with skate rental tickets.  
  • Distribute skates to guests. 
  • Return skates to the skate racks. 
  • Perform minor-level upkeep on skates, such as replacing laces and disinfecting boots.  
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and order of the display counter and rental area. 
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.  

Skate Guard Duties / Responsibilities: 

  • Practice excellent customer service. 
  • Greet, welcome, and guide guests.  
  • Courteously respond to customer inquiries and questions. 
  • Verify guest tickets for admission entry. 
  • Remain visible to guests and staff while on the rink. 
  • Monitor rink conditions while skating. 
  • Ensure guests are skating safely. 
  • Actively convey rink rules and regulations to guests. 
  • Report any injuries or violations in compliance with established procedures. 

 Physical Requirements for all Roles:  

  • Prolonged periods of walking throughout the assigned area.   
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.  
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather. 
  • Weeknight and weekend availability required, particularly during special events.
