We are currently seeking a Zomboni driver and ice technician (seasonal/part-time) to join the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink team, Philadelphia's premier outdoor skating rink and seasonal attraction. Documented and verifiable experience operating a Zamboni, with references, is highly preferred. This is not an entry-level position. Heavy machinery experience is a plus. We are an outdoor facility completely exposed to the elements, and work conditions can vary significantly with the weather. Starting salary based on experience.
Punctuality and a high level of professionalism in all aspects are required. Candidates must be 17 or older to apply. Days, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required as necessary. Actual work hours can vary.
For the summer, availability from May through September is required; for the winter, availability from November through March is required.

Duties / Responsibilities:
- Operating a Zamboni ice resurfacer, Model 500.
- Resurfacing an outdoor rink surface on a regular schedule and as necessary.
- Edging the rink perimeter as necessary, and any additional ice maintenance.
- Maintaining any ice resurfacing equipment, including changing Zamboni blades, washing machinery, lubricating machinery, fueling machines, and other tasks as they come up.
Education and Experience:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of outdoor ice resurfacing experience, or a minimum of 3 years of ice maintenance experience in an indoor facility.
- In addition, potential candidates must be customer service-oriented and able to step in as needed for front-end operations during peak times. An outgoing team-player personality is highly preferred.
- A valid US driver's license is required.
- Completion of the STAR/US Ice Rink Association Certified Ice Technician program is preferred. ORFA ice resurfacer training equivalent is accepted.
- Candidates are subject to drug testing and background checks.
Physical Requirements:
- Potential Candidates must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic environment. Should you be selected, you will be required to cross-train with other departments as needed.
- Punctuality and a high level of professionalism in all aspects are a requirement.
- Candidates must be physically capable of lifting 50lbs.
- Candidates must be 17 or older to apply.

- Availability from November through the end of February is a requirement. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a high-volume, customer service-related, and or hospitality-related environment, and outdoor ice venue experience operating a Zamboni.
