The Cumberland Street Connector Project enhances safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists traveling to and from the waterfront. Planned improvements include upgraded streetscapes, traffic signals, curbs, curb ramps, site furnishings, and landscaping. Key features of the project include:
- A safer bicycle and pedestrian crossing at Richmond Street
- A new protected side path along Cumberland Street
- A new trailhead and public plaza at the entrance to the future Graffiti Pier Park
- A connection to the existing Delaware River Trail east of Beach Street
Currently in the conceptual phase, DRWC plans to advance the project into design development and construction soon.
