PennDOT recently announced several updates on the I-95 CAP construction on Penn’s Landing. This work continues this spring and includes significant work on the east side of I-95 and the South Street Pedestrian Bridge.
Here's what to know:

- Work is happening on both sides of the highway, including drilling and installing steel beams underground.
- The South Street Pedestrian Bridge extension is being assembled and will connect Center City to the waterfront.
- Two highway ramps are temporarily closed:
- Lombard Circle ramp to I-95 North (closed for 2 years)
- Market Street ramp to I-95 South (closed until November)
- Lane shifts and closures are happening on I-95 and Columbus Boulevard during construction.
- Utility work and sewer installation are also underway.
- Later in 2025, crews will begin placing large steel beams for the new park deck.
