PrismaPhonik: A Magical Stroll Through Music and Light at Spruce Street Harbor Park
06/26 – 08/17
Get ready for an unforgettable summer night along the Delaware River Waterfront with PrismaPhonik by William Simard and Anthony Gagnon Boisvert, a one-of-a-kind, multi-sensory experience where music and light come to life in perfect harmony.
Wander through a glowing labyrinth of 12 colorful prisms, each representing a different orchestra musician. As you move, each prism responds to your presence, lighting up and playing beautiful, layered sounds from classical symphonic masterpieces. Every beam of light corresponds to the notes and energy of real musical performances, giving you the vivid feeling of “becoming” the music.
This immersive installation lets you experience synesthesia, the rare ability to see sound as color. Each color is based on musical tension and harmony, carefully calculated to evoke emotion, rhythm, and movement. The result? A dreamy fusion of art, math, and music that transforms public space into a magical concert.
PrismaPhonik will feature new creative collaborations with local Philadelphia composers and musicians, making this the only version of the exhibit to include exclusive, Philly-inspired soundscapes. Whether you're a classical music lover, a light-art enthusiast, or just out for a summer stroll, this is a must-see stop at Spruce Street Harbor Park.
