"In Plain Sight" Installation presented by Visit Philly
06/02 – 06/30
Join us at Cherry Street Pier this June to see In Plain Sight, a brand-new sculpture honoring the Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual communities during Pride Month.
Unveiled by Visit Philadelphia, this 10-foot-tall, colorful sculpture is on display throughout the month and celebrates the strength, visibility, and diversity of the TQ+ community. It also serves as a powerful reminder of Philadelphia’s ongoing support for LGBTQ+ residents and visitors.
The sculpture was created in collaboration with local artists and designed to incorporate colors from various LGBTQ+ pride flags, each representing different aspects of the community, from the blue, pink, and white of the Transgender flag to the black and brown stripes honoring people of color.
Carved grooves run through the piece, revealing the diverse identities and stories that exist within the LGBTQ+ community. Following Pride Month, an open call will be launched to find a permanent home for the sculpture.
Celebrate Pride with us and experience this meaningful work of art in person.
