Austen Camille Weymueller's "Here, Twice a Day, We Are Held by the Ocean"

Step into a one-of-a-kind art experience along the waterfront. Here, Twice a Day, We Are Held by the Ocean is a special installation that combines sculpture and augmented reality (AR) animation, designed to connect you with the rhythms of the Delaware River. Inspired by how the ocean’s tides shift the river’s waters twice a day, this outdoor artwork brings the story of rising seas and our changing environment to life.

 

The installation is free and open to the public. All ages welcome. The installation will be located on The Quay at Penn's Landing Marina, adjacent to Spruce Street Harbor Park. Don't miss the opening reception on Friday, June 20, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

By 2080, rising sea levels could flood parts of Philadelphia. This artwork helps us imagine what that might mean—and how we can care for our city and our planet.

Meet Austen Camille Weymueller:
Austen Camille Weymueller is a Canadian-American artist and nature lover who creates work inspired by the places she visits. Her art blends sculpture, writing, sound, and storytelling to help people connect with the land around them.

Parking on-site will be limited due to I-95 CAP construction. However, many great ways to access the Waterfront include walking and biking along the Delaware River Trail, rideshare, and public transit.
