Light Up Memorial Day Weekend! Plus Summer on the Waterfront Programming Revealed

(Philadelphia, PA) – The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is kicking the warm weather season into high gear beginning Memorial Day Weekend, and the theme for the weekend is certainly lighting up the sky. Locals and visitors will be enchanted by the new look of Spruce Street Harbor Park’s iconic lights, which will wash the canopy of trees around the park with colorful light. New light bars are attached to over 60 trees in the park, using sensor technology that allows for an expansive interactive platform that can be re-programmed and re-configured as needed.

The Delaware River Trail Is Complete and Open for Business

(Philadelphia, PA) A major milestone in the Master Plan for the Central Delaware, the highly anticipated Delaware River Trail (DRT) is complete and fully open for public use and enjoyment, transforming the way Philadelphians and visitors can access and benefit from everything that the Delaware River Waterfront has to offer including wonderful public spaces such as Penn Treaty Park, Race Street Pier, Cherry Street Pier, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest and Winterfest, Spruce Street Harbor Park, Washington Avenue Pier, and Pier 68.
The completed DRT runs 3.3 miles from Pier 70 in South Philadelphia to Penn Treaty Park in Fishtown, including interim trail segments between Tasker Street and Washington Avenue. DRWC is actively pursuing acquisition, design, and construction funding to extend the trail north to Allegheny Avenue and south to Oregon Avenue, consistent with the vision established in the Master Plan.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Tonight, ring in 2022 with the Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront. Both the 6 PM and 12 AM shows will be synchronized to their own unique, themed soundtrack that will be played on speakers at free viewing locations at Penn’s Landing and outside Rivers Casino and simulcast on KYW Newsradio 1060AM and 103.9FM so revelers can tune in from wherever they are. The 6 PM fireworks on both nights will also be broadcast live on NBC10 and Telemundo62.

Philadelphia's Most Spectacular New Year's Eve Tradition Returns with the Addition of a New Year's Day Fireworks Show

PHILADELPHIA, PA (December 13, 2021) – The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is excited to bring Philadelphians and visitors an exceptional lineup of festivities to ring in the New Year. With the holiday falling on a Friday night, folks can celebrate well into New Year’s Day with the VISIT PHILADELPHIA New Year’s Day Fireworks Spectacular. And of course, the ultimate tradition for ringing in the New Year is still with TWO Rivers Casino New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront with TWO shows at 6 pm and midnight, plus ice skating at Philly’s favorite outdoor rink with festive foods, drinks, kids’ activities, and more.
In addition to the annual Parties on Ice at Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest (5 pm and 10 pm), guests can also watch in awe as fireworks illuminate the sky at Cherry Street Pier which will host two New Year’s Eve events, a Kids New Year’s Eve Countdown and Fireworks from 5 pm - 7pm, and a 21+ New Year’s Eve bash from 10 pm - 1 am.
