PennDot is replacing and expanding the covered section of I-95 at Penn’s Landing along the Waterfront under the department’s $329 million I-95/CAP project. The two main components of this project are the construction of a new 11.5-acre
Park at Penn’s Landing and a new South Street pedestrian bridge.
The new Park at Penn's Landing will be a civic space stretching between Chestnut Street, Walnut Street, Front Street, and the Delaware River. The park will include various activities and features, including flexible open space for performances and festivals, food and drink options, a new play area, a relocated RiverRink for ice skating in the Winter, and a water play area to cool off in the Summer.
