The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recently announced that Columbus Boulevard will be reduced to a single lane at Penn’s Landing for approximately one (1) year. This work is tentatively scheduled for utility construction on Monday, July 15, 2024, as part of the new Park at Penn’s Landing project.
Southbound Columbus Boulevard will be reduced from three lanes to one from Market Street to Dock Street until approximately mid-2025 when a second southbound lane will be opened. At the same time, a pier will be constructed between the boulevard and I-95. That pier will support extending the new covered area over I-95 and Columbus Boulevard.
Northbound Columbus Boulevard is currently reduced to two lanes for construction activities at that location.
Motorists are advised that the new restriction will create backups and delays on southbound Columbus Boulevard that may also impact southbound Delaware Avenue approaching Penn’s Landing.
