Great news! If you are making your way to the Delaware River Waterfront today, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that southbound Interstate 95 has reopened between I-676/Callowhill Street (Exit 22) and the Morris Street on-ramp in Center City Philadelphia. These exits were closed Feb. 24 - Feb. 26 due to the I-95 CAP construction.
The Market Street ramp to I-95 South, which was closed to traffic on Monday, February 19, will remain closed through early March. Drivers will be directed to follow the posted detour signs to southbound Columbus Boulevard and access I-95 South at Morris Street.
Public amenities such as Race Street Pier, Cherry Street Pier, Washington Avenue Pier, and Pier 68 along the Delaware River Waterfront will be open and accessible during construction. Review parking and direction information before your next visit. We encourage visitors to plan to give themselves plenty of travel time as they make their way to their favorite Waterfront destinations.
The Delaware River Trail will remain open and accessible during CAP construction. However, a section of the trail between Penn and Spring Garden streets has been temporarily closed since January due to construction at the former Festival Pier site.Know Before You Go:
