Historic HoliDays and Nights at the Waterfront
11/30 – 12/31

Holiday cheer spreads throughout Philadelphia’s Historic District this season during Historic District HoliDays & Nights, kicking off November 30 with the beginning of Old City District's Historic Holiday Nights, and culminating in the SugarHouse New Year's Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront. As part of the festivities, the Snowflake Shuttle powered by PHLASH will offer free rides throughout the District, Thursday through Saturday evenings, 6-9 p.m. 

Philadelphia’s Original City – Old City, Society Hill and the Delaware River Waterfront – join forces for an epic celebration of the season featuring events throughout the district ranging from yuletide bar crawls to skating sessions to boat cruises and more. In addition to the full winter line-up at Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest like Storytime at The Lodge, Skate with Santa, DJ Nights, and extended holiday hours, festivities continue up and down the waterfront throughout the season.

DECEMBER 1st

First Friday Dinner Cruises on the Spirit of Philadelphia:  Everyone knows the best time to head to Old City is First Friday!  Take advantage of the free parking and gallery hopping, and then head over to Spirit for an incredible night on the water.  Enjoy a delicious buffet menu featuring a build your own cheesesteak station, a free Yards beer or glass of wine for each guest over 21, DJ entertainment, and of course, unbeatable views of the Philadelphia skyline.

DECEMBER 5th

Camden County’s Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on the Battleship New Jersey:  Con. Don Norcross will be the keynote speaker for this free ceremony on the ship’s fantail (tented rear deck).  We’ll also have live music by Eastern High School Band, a wreath casting and 21-gun salute.  The Canteen truck will be serving complimentary coffee and hot chocolate on the pier.

DECEMBER 7th

USS New Jersey 75th Anniversary Ceremony on the Battleship New Jersey:  A free ceremony on the forecastle (forward deck) will remember the launch of the New Jersey.  The Tugboat Jupiter will be alongside the Battleship for a ceremonial rope toss.

DECEMBER 8th

Patriots Game on the Battleship New Jersey: Army vs Navy in a Tug-of-War on the Battleship’s Pier, Friday, Dec. 8 at 3pm. Students from both academies will compete in a best of three tug-of-war challenge.  Also expected are the Army and Navy spirit squads and bands for this free event.

DECEMBER 9th

Breakfast with Santa on the Battleship New Jersey:  Guests can enjoy a hot breakfast served at the chowline, get a tour of the Battleship, win prizes and meet Santa Clause!  Tickets are $18 for kids and $24 for adults.

Parade of Lights at the Independence Seaport Museum: 'Tis the season to get festive with family! Parade of Lights returns - a favorite annual holiday event at Independence Seaport Museum. A parade of local working boats will be illuminated in holiday lights for all to see on the Delaware River at 5:30 p.m. The best spot to take in this unique sight is from the Museum's second floor terrace. Warm seasonal beverages and food will be available in our Holiday Hut.

Lunch with Santa Cruises on the Spirit of Philadelphia:  Cruise with Santa himself!  The whole family will love a day on the water, complete with delicious lunch buffet, festive holiday music, and a meet & greet with the man in red.

DECEMBER 31st -- NEW YEAR'S EVE

Independence Seaport Museum: Join us to celebrate the arrival of 2018 with noisemakers, party hats, and a ginger ale toast before the 6PM  SugarHouse New Year's Eve Fireworks on the Delaware River Waterfront. Be sure to arrive before 5 p.m. to visit the Museum galleries and Historic Ships, Cruiser Olympia and Submarine Becuna, which open at 10 a.m. Kids will love embarking on a holiday-themed scavenger hunt adventure throughout the Museum. Everything is included with regular Museum admission, even the best front-row views of the fireworks from our outdoor terraces. Free admission for Museum Members.

Spirit of Philadelphia:  Be on board when we count down to 2017 and ring in the New Year aboard Spirit of Philadelphia! Resolutions can wait. Come cruise for one last hurrah on the Delaware River. Indulge in our delicious holiday buffet and sip champagne before the ball drops on another fabulous year.

The Moshulu: Serving a special Four Course Prix Fixe Menu with several options to choose from including Moshulu favorites and seasonally inspired dishes.  $125 per person from 3:30 - 6:45 PM.  $195 per person from 7 - 10:30 PM. Prices do not include gratuity, tax or beverages. $35 for Children 2-14 for Three Course Children's menu.  Live Music with a light jazz trio in the Stateroom, piano in the dining room and a DJ on the Mid Deck. Fireworks on the Delaware River at 6 PM and midnight. Feel free to join us on the Deck with a dessert buffer for $50 with cash bar and music if you are not dining with us.

Battleship New Jersey: First Night of 2018 Aboard the Battleship, Sunday, Dec. 31, 5pm.  Guests can experience the Battleship’s award-winning overnight program.  Enjoy dinner and breakfast served at the chowline, tour the ship, ride the flight simulator and sleep in the bunks that the crew of the USS New Jersey once did.
