The Camden Greenway project expands upon an idea dating back to the 1920s to create an interconnected system of open spaces, parks and recreation areas in the City of Camden. Today, the vision includes a continuous system of open space for recreation and environmental enhancement along the shorelines of the Cooper and Delaware Rivers and Newton Creek and promotes economic development in adjacent neighborhoods. Camden Greenways Inc. and the New Jersey Conservation Foundation have completed a first phase on the south side of Cooper River from New Camden Park through Farnham Park and along Kaighns Ave.
