The Penn Street Street Trail, located north of Spring Garden Street, was completed in 2013 as part of the Delaware River Trail. The trail links with a public section of trail built by Sugarhouse Casino (currently Rivers Casino). The Casino further lengthened this trail as a part of its 2016 expansion.
The trail was improved in the south from Tasker to Pier 70 in 2018. A northward connection from the Casino through acquired riverfront land to Penn Treaty Park occurred in late 2019.
