(Philadelphia, PA, July 16, 2024) - The Delaware River Waterfront’s arts hub, Cherry Street Pier, in collaboration with the team behind Kensington’s celebrated Mexican restaurant, Cantina La Martina, is proud to introduce La Placita Cherry Street Pier.
As the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) prepares to introduce the groundbreaking Park at Penn’s Landing, the organization is beginning to set the tone for a new era on the Waterfront by progressively reimagining the food and beverage offerings at each of their parks, ensuring that they reflect the individual identity of the park. Established as an incubator space, supporting artists who may not otherwise have the infrastructure or resources to have their own brick and mortar studio, the introduction of this lively Latin street food concept extends Cherry Street Pier’s incubator to the culinary arts.
La Placita Cherry Street Pier will showcase three concepts that are each housed in their own retrofitted trolleys. A place where street food, cocktails, local artistry, music and dancing quickly transplants you to Latin Quarters. La Placita will be offering some Puerto Rican Chinchorreo favorites, Cantina la Martinita will be offering Mexican street food, and Irv's Ice Cream will be serving unique small-batch ice cream flavors that will align with the vibrant Latin vibe.
