Lights! Camera! Action! Your favorite free movie series is back. Celebrate summer at the cinema at Screening Under the Stars at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing every Thursday night in July and August.


Kick back in your favorite lawn chair with a great snack from our on-site concessions and enjoy today’s hottest blockbusters like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and new-school classics like Clueless. Prior to every screening, enjoy a short film from the Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival, which showcases exceptional new films that celebrate the beauty of the earth, explore challenges facing our planet, and entertain, inform, and inspire personal action. 

Movies start at dusk, which is approximately 8:30 PM. Plan your movie night on the waterfront, by checking out our awesome movie lineup:

Great Plaza Policies:

Chairs - Chairs may not be left unoccupied on the Great Plaza prior to concert start time. Any chair(s) left unoccupied will be removed. We understand this practice was a long-standing tradition, however, the security and safety of guests visiting the Delaware River Waterfront is our top priority.

Alcohol - Outside alcohol is not permitted inside the gated area of the Great Plaza. Guests bringing alcohol into the gated area can / will be asked to leave the Great Plaza – or any DRWC owned and operated property – and escorted from the premises.

Coolers - Coolers are not allowed at concerts on the Great Plaza.

Smoking - Smoking – including e-cigarettes and/or vaping mechanisms – is not allowed on any DRWC owned and operated property.

SEPTA Bus Routes 21 & 42 stop at The Great Plaza at Penn's Landing and Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest at the Chestnut Street turnaround. Routes 17, 33, & 48 stop at Front and Market Streets. Route 12 stops directly at Spruce Street Harbor Park Presented by Univest at Columbus Blvd and Dock Street. Route 25 runs along Columbus Blvd. 

Take the SEPTA Market-Frankford Elevated Line (the Blue line) to the Second Street Stop. From there, head East over the Market Street Bridge. The Blue Cross RiverRink and Great Plaza at Penn's Landing will be straight ahead. 
The Philly Phlash is the quick, inexpensive, easy connection to key destinations throughout Center City, Philadelphia. Hop on and off at 20 stops for easy and convenient access to the city's most popular sites, including Penn’s Landing, the Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch Museum, Eastern State Penitentiary and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Visit for tickets and more info. Runs seasonally. 
The RiverLink Ferry stops at Columbus Blvd and Walnut Street, next to the Independence Seaport Museum and next to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. The RiverLink Ferry runs on a regular schedule starting in May through Labor Day, seven days a week with expanded service during peak times and festivals. Please check the website for more information. Runs seasonally.
Bike parking is located along the waterfront with a large corral located at Spruce Street Harbor Park Presented by Univest/Valley Green Bank. 
Philly's bike share program, Indego, has four easy-access stations within walking distance. These include: The Race Street Pier (190 N Christopher Columbus Blvd), 2nd and Market (215 Market St.), Welcome Park NPS (191 S. 2nd St.), and Foglietta Plaza 3 Dock St.
Take I-95 South to Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/ Washington Avenue). Exit to left, stay in left lane, and make a left at the end of the ramp onto Columbus Boulevard. The Residences at Dockside will be on your right. Remain straight for approximately ½ mile. Enter Great Plaza parking lot on right at Walnut Street or Market Street (Blue Cross RiverRink). 

Take I-95 North to Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue/Penn’s Landing). At the end of the ramp, make a left onto Columbus Boulevard.  Remain straight for approximately 1 mile. Enter Great Plaza parking lot on right at Walnut Street or Market Street (Blue Cross RiverRink). 

From Ben Franklin Bridge Stay in the right lane. At the end of the bridge, make a quick right on the 5th Street Exit. Follow 5th Street to Spring Garden Street, and make a right. Follow Spring Garden Street 5 blocks to Columbus Boulevard. Continue another ¼ mile and the Great Plaza will be on your left. Enter on left at Market Street (Penn’s Landing) or Walnut Street.

Take 76 East to the Central Philadelphia Exit (676 East/Vine Street Expressway Exit). Follow  676 East to 95 South (Chester/ Philadelphia Int’l Airport). Follow 95 South to Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue). Follow directions from the north.
