Mexican Independence Day Festival

Commemorate Mexican Independence during the Mexican Independence Day Festival,  part of the PECO Multicultural Series, with music, food, dancing, and more. Browse traditional arts and crafts, dance to lively performances by Mexican musicians, plus enjoy kids activities.

The Mexican Independence Day Festival will take place on September 15, 2019, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing as part of the PECO Multicultural Series. With more than 13,000 attendees, this festival is the largest event celebrating the Independence of Mexico in the Delaware Valley.

This popular festival celebrates not only Mexican Independence, but also Mexican culture and heritage, through traditional Mexican food and artisan crafts, folkloric and mariachi performances, activities for children, and popular music performances.  City officials and prominent dignitaries will join the Consul of Mexico in Philadelphia in the traditional “Grito de Independencia” ceremony, commemorating the beginning of the Mexican Independence movement that led to the building of the Mexican Nation.

Free and open to the public.

Wheelchair accessible.
