Labor Day Weekend is here! We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the extra-long weekend and “unofficial” end of summer, then with a GIANT lineup of free events just for you.

 

Whether it's finding your zen at Free Yoga at Race Street Pier presented by Independence Blue Cross, skating from morning to night during closing weekend at Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, relaxing in a colorful hammock at Spruce Street Harbor Park Sustained by Univest with a bucket of Crabfries from Chickies and Petes and a Yards Lazy Hammock, we have you covered ALL weekend long!

Thursday, August 29

Screenings Under the Stars: Incredibles 2

The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing

Kick back in your favorite lawn chair with a great snack from our on-site concessions and enjoy the final Screenings Under the Star of the season. We are bringing this home with a film the whole family will love - Incredibles 2. The film starts at approximately 8 pm. Come early to the show to enjoy a short film presented by the Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival. 

WXPN Welcomes Waterfront Sessions: Mo Lowda and the Humble

Spruce Street Harbor Park Sustained by Univest

We are closing out the incredible WXPN Welcomes Waterfront Sessions music series with Philly-based alternative-rock band Mo Lowda and the Humble on August 29. Come early to vibe to a set by DJ Breakfast followed by a performance by Mo Lowda at 8:30 pm.

Smooth Jazz Summer Nights: Damien Escobar

The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing

Prepare for a musical experience unlike any other as the Smooth Jazz Summer Nights concert series culminates with an electrifying performance by renowned violinist Damien Escobar and his eclectic mix of jazz, hip hop, classical, pop and R&B stylings.

The Food Trust’s Market at Cherry Street Pier Presented by Aetna

All roads lead to Cherry Street Pier Labor Day Weekend. Spend the day purchasing fresh produce for your cook-outs and soaking in those waterfront views at Philadelphia’s largest open-air market on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

Free Concert and Fireworks

Celebrate Labor Day Weekend with a spectacular free concert at 8 pm followed by an amazing fireworks finale.

Sunday’s with Popup Play

Spruce Street Harbor Park Sustained by Univest

Experience the ultimate Sunday Funday with PopUp Play Sunday from 11:30pm to 12:30pm. Enjoy a variety of free, themed, kid-friendly activities the whole family will love. From building catapults and forts to special sea creatures, this interactive program celebrates the magic of play through art, music, and science.

Shop at more than 20 curated art and craft vendors Sunday from 1pm to 6pm.  Vendors will be set up al fresco style under a tree-lined walkway, perfect for strolling while sipping a frozen drink.

Paint at the Pier with local visual artist, event producer, and graphic designer Flygirrl who will lead children through the process of creating a dynamic piece of art they get to take home with them! Monday, September 2

CLOSING DAY: Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest 

Skate from morning to night at closing day of Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest. Enjoy several laps around Philadelphia’s largest outdoor roller rink, while taking in scenic views. Then, play a final round of mini golf, ride the Ferris wheel, and try your hand at carnival games before indulging in tasty eats from Chickies and Petes, Franklin Fountain, and Skelly’s Amusements and making a farewell toast with one of our top-noche local brews from the bar!
