The Canal St. North development proposes to use the former Ajax Metal building as a multi-use entertainment venue, including a 3000 seat music venue, an 18-lane bowling alley, a restaurant, retail space, offices and a tasting room for a local distillery. This development will anchor future development along Canal St., a winding cobblestone street built over a 19th century canal which followed the stream bed of the Cohocksink Creek. This development will provide important connections from Fishtown and Northern Liberties to the waterfront.
